Now that all the experts have had their say concerning the 2008 Matric results, it is back to school for all the teachers and learners. What will the experts have to say at the end of 2009 and is that really relevant?

Teachers know that the statistics of the results do not really provide a true picture of the quality of education. They do, however, provide various interesting comparisons e.g. between different regions, subjects etc. (If you would like to see a breakdown of the results click here.)

Tablet PC's should be any teacher's tool of
choice.
A PC is a tool that no teacher can do
without today. The fact that you are reading this article is also proof of
that. Just about any task that a teacher has to fulfil has some ICT component
in it. Word Processing for designing assessment tasks and explanatory notes,
Spreadsheets for calculation of marks, Graphics Presentation packages for
presenting lessons, Internet Browsers for doing research and downloading resources
from the Internet - just to mention a few applications.
